Island Hopping (Singapore Edition)

The Old Jetty at St John’s Island

It’s almost the end of 2020 and international leisure travel is still not allowed for most countries. So we are all pretty much stuck in Singapore. With 5.6 million people crowded into an island city state of roughly 50 km wide by 30 km tall, there’s only so many places you can go to rediscover your local neighbourhoods. So how about going off the main island?

The Pandemic National Day

The Pandemic National Day

This year’s National Day Celebration was decidedly different from every other year since Singapore gained independence. So here is a trip made just before Stay At Home became vogue.

Yangon Streets

Yangon Streets

On my previous visit to Yangon, I didn’t spend much time in the city. Instead, I was travelling to Mandalay and Bagan, followed by a short stay in Inle Lake. I only spent 24 hours in Yangon, which is actually enough time to see the major attractions in the city. On my recent visit to Yangon, I decided to explore more of the streets of the city as they had attracted me with their mix of old architecture jostling with shiny new glass and steel buildings, traditional longyi’s alongside western business attire.
